Activities and things to see in Lennartsfors

The lock station and the central parts of Lennartsfors are very beautiful and have a touch of history. Have an icecream in the cafes during summer, enjoy the view or read about the historical era when the power station and the local industry was flourishing. The old forge is open some weekends during spring and summer - well worth seeing!

Deep into the forests, lies this well-hidden car cemetery. Hundreds of cars from the 40s, 50s, and 60s are spread out in the area, some of them covered with moss, with trees growing through them, stacked on top of each other or placed side by side. While it has not been confirmed, many of the cars are said to have belonged to the US military who left the autos after World War II. People interested in cars, artists, and photographers come here from near and far to take it in and be inspired. Everyone is welcome to visit, but woe to be any who would steal a souvenir, since the cementary is on private property. Note before a visit: he Båstnäs Car Cemetery is located approximately 20 km south of the town of Töcksfors in Värmland, Sweden. There's no public transportation so directions from for example google maps, a car, bike or good hiking shoes are defenitely needed.....and well worth the effort. From Lennartsfors you can also take the boat or canoe there - then it will be a full day activity.

A statue, built of rocks and the legend tells, that it was erected during wartimes in the 17 - 18 century, to make the enemies think there stands a real watchman. From the top of Borgåsen you have a magnificent view over the lake Västra Silen. Directions: use for example google maps and search for "Källtegen". When you come to "Blomskog" a small track leads to the statue - you can see the statue from the main road.
