Folly is a 30 - 45 minute drive to the Charleston airport and a 20 – 30 minute drive to downtown Charleston.
Warning - If you leave and then try to return to the island between 10am and late afternoon on a weekend, the drive back might be over an hour due to heavy beach traffic.
Once you're on the island, the bars and restaurants on and around Center Street are all about a 5 minute bike ride or 15 minute walk from the Guest House.
Taxis and ride shares are easy to catch on the way to Folly but getting off the island in a timely manner might require a reservation depending on the time of

Parking on Folly
There are some pay to park spots on and around Center Street, at most beach accesses, and also at The Washout, all of which are clearly marked. There is a pay to park lot at the Folly Pier and a pay to park lot across the street from that. Otherwise, street parking all over the entire island is free. Be careful not to block anyone’s driveway, and remember, all 4 wheels off the pavement! Parking rules for golf carts, if you rent one, are the same as cars.
