Probably I should list this under Essentials as Hansen’s Sno-Bliz offers the best snowball IN THE WORLD!
It was started by Ernest and Mary Hansen in 1939. Ernest invented the first ice shaving machine and Mary created her own flavored syrups.
The shop is now owned and operated by Ernest and Mary’s granddaughter, Ashley.
The line may be long but its worth the wait. A classic New Orleans institution. Named a 2014 American Classic by the James Beard Foundation.
I would call and see when the line is not long as you are on Vacation and can get a snowball before work or school lets out. Seasonal hours 1pm-7pm (but not in the winter) closed Monday.
