Bon Appetit has great things to say about Portland, ME, but that’s just a fraction of its offerings. Beyond the amazing fresh seafood and worldly palate, explore the art/music scene, brew pubs and ice bars, or hop on a ferry (year round) and enjoy the views on the bay or bike one of the many islands. Shop the Old Port. Walk the wharf and witness a fishermen’s life.

A small hidden gem just off of Main Street in Saco. A wooden bridge brings you to a small walk path with spaces for picnics, relaxation, or play chess on the permanent stone table. Completely surrounded by the soothing sounds and views of the Saco River.

Winter TraIl Hikes = snowshoes or Yak Trax & warm outerwear
There are MANY hiking/biking/cross country ski trails scattering the area, so a copy of the Saco Bay Trails Guidebook is in the Lofts Library for your reference. But if time is limited, we recommend visiting a portion of the Eastern Trail or the Saco Heath, both just a short car trip.
