Public transport
From the apartment, the main spots in Vienna are easily doable by foot. Everything is between 5-25 minutes walking distance. If you are not a big fan of walking, the public transport is among one of the highest rated in the world. Take the public transport pass for 1,2 or more days - it saves you a little money if you take several rides with the public transport per day.

Transport from and to the airport
Coming from or going to the airport is easy from the apartment - there is 3 options: 1. taxi/Uber - will cost something between 35-50€ 2. Public transport - the train line S7 makes the connection to/from Praterstern (close to the apartment), it’s what locals do, costs about 4€ and takes 25min, same as a taxi ride 3. The CAT train - it is basically the same as the S7 but more obvious for tourists, the green train, costs about 16€, takes 20min

Tip not included
Generally, there is no tip included in the bill. We tip about 10% - especially if the service was appreciated. In Vienna, staff basically lives of the tip.

Swimming in the Danube waters
Obviously, this applies if you come in summer but even in winter we do go ice dipping. There are several good spots in the various waters in the city - contact me if you wish to make a swimming trip since the the best spots change depending of the time of year. Neue Donau is definitely a good starting point

Coffee, Kaffee, Melange etc
Despite the reputation of being a or even the Kaffeehaus (coffee house) city, don’t expect too much of the coffee. Waiters will grumpily ask you to specify the coffee you want if you simply order ‚a coffee please‘ - specify whether oyou desire an Espresso, a Cappuchino, Melange or Americano. Don’t expect too much of that - go to one of those spots (third wave) if you want good coffee: Balthasar coffee, Kaffee MIK, Akrap, Comet, Cafeterie, Wolfgang coffee, Jonas Reindl, Caffe vom See etc

Expect grumpy waiters, it is part of the Vienna experience :D some do it nicely for example at Cafe Korb, some are generally annoyed, don’t take it personal : )
