Harkers Island has the honor of hosting both the Cape Lookout National Seashore Visitor Center and the Core Sound Waterfowl and History Museum along its shores, making it a very special stop during any Crystal Coast trip. This area – made up largely of residential homes and private communities – offers some of the most unique views of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse (our Diamond Lady), as well as boat launches and marinas to explore a quieter, calmer side of the Coast. Official ferry service to Cape Lookout National Seashore is also available out of Harkers Island at the Visitor Center, found at the far east end of the Island.

We love this ferry service! We have used them twice. Once for a sunset trip and the other just to go to Shackleford island for the day. Both times we had a great experience. Both staff members on the boat were helpful, friendly and kind. Also very informative and knowledgeable about the area and island. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
