Mai Tais here are our favorite outside of Hawaii. Yummy food, great decor, harbor seating. There’s a large turtle & koi pond out front so bring quarters for the kids to feed them. We highly recommend the fish & chips (unless you’re British - you’ll have to go to The Kings Head for the taste of a real chippy!)

A MUST! A fave of SoCal locals, Tito’s is the place for Taco Tuesday...and Wednesday thru Monday! Tip: tacos are more expensive with cheese so order half with and half without cheese and share the cheese yourself. It’s a LOT of cheese.

Bar hop starts here. Right on the beach. A Venice locals fave. Have a drink here and move on - food is okay, but worth the stop on a pub crawl for one drink.

Growlers to go for beer lovers. Hamburgers here are some of the best around. This place was a “locals only” type pub when I was a kid so we love to support it. Right on Venice Beach.

You just have to go. Authentic British Fish & Chips. Ulster Fry on the menu, bangers & mash, etc. Closest you’ll find to a real British place around here. Don’t be fooled by anywhere else around here that claims to be an Irish Pub - they aren’t...

Thursday night is Turtle Racing night...although right now in 2020 its just a bar on a patio. Not sure when turtle racing will return. Enjoyed by locals and tourists alike as this place has been featured on many tv shows.

One of my all time faves on Abbott Kinney. You really can’t tell it’s there (no sign) but the actual restaurant is next to Gjelina take away, which usually has a line, so it’s pretty simple to tell where it is if you’re using Waze or google maps

Such a vibe! You will feel like you’re transported to Bali while grabbing coffee here. They’ve just expanded their menu and I haven’t been since the pandemic, so hopefully I will get in there soon and have better recommendations on what to order...

Leave for Disneyland around 8am and you’ll miss the heavier traffic. Line to get in does take a while - leave everything you can at home to avoid the hassles with metal detectors & purse/handbag checks. There are a few places within the park to eat that won’t cost you your first born, but expect to pay a lot for food, drinks, etc. Take an empty water bottle with you and fill it at the stations within Disney. Get an autograph book for the kids upon arrival and collect signatures as you see the characters throughout the day. Oh...and...you MUST get the mouse ears. It’s like a right of passage :)

12 miles from the house to the top of the sign. It’s a wee bit of a hike up to the sign but worth the views. If you leave around 4 pm and get there for the dusky twilight city views it’s so worth it. Just make sure you finish your photos and exploring at least 30 minutes before dark as the trail can be sketchy after sunset.

Shopping a plenty, eating, drinking and just a fun place to stroll. Grab some ice cream at Salt & Straw and pop in to the many shops owned by Venice locals. Urbanic is my fave store on Abbott Kinney, make sure you stop in.
