Getting to Salcombe
The little passenger ferry boat goes back & forth to Salcombe all day until about 6pm in the main season. You simply wait on the quay at the bottom of the steps from East Portlemouth. In winter it is every half hour. From Summer 2020 the rate is £2 per person & they now have contactless. In the evening you can call the water taxi which runs till about 10pm

Be prepared to walk
In the summer the narrow lanes get busy and parking is limited. You don’t need to get in the car to get to the beach or to go to Salcombe!

A food delivery for the heavy stuff!
There are no supermarkets close to Godolphin so book a delivery before you arrive. Once here there is a good deli, bakery, butchers & fishmongers and Co-op in Salcombe (accessible via passenger ferry) for you to get daily provisions. On this side of the estuary we now do have Village Fare: https://villagefare.co.uk/shop-page at the village hall / farm in the village where you can pick up veg etc and on certain days of the week buy milk, eggs etc. The closet shop is The Piglet Stores in East Prawle for basic provisions, a paper and then there is a small Spar at the garage in East Charleton.
