Its a piece of Italy in Canberra. Authentic Italian everything. Even the chefs barely speak English. And its classy, has great red wine, excellent pizza and even better Chocolate Lava cake for dessert.

Best Greek/Italian food in Canberra. Only the locals know/go. Divine...I shouldn't share this one but I want my guests to know how great it is! Can be a little noisy when crowded (which is most of the time because it is super popular - book before you go!) but that's the Europeans way. BYO.

The BEST vegetarian (and I presume other) fresh dumplings in Canberra bar none. We love dumplings and only found this recently (its new). It was very busy at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, full of Asian eaters - always a great sign of a very good Asian restaurant. It did not disappoint. Yum.

Strongest coffee in Canberra. Quirky little corner coffee place in the newly established Acton area. Walk over the pedestrian bridge next store for quick Lake Burley Griffin access. Close to Electric Palace cinema - a good option for quieter movie viewing as more adults than kids go there...and you can take a glass of wine and cheese platter into the movie with you.

Delish Café - a local treasure. Run locally, food cooked on premises; last year I gave them our apricots from the tree in the front yard and they made desserts from them. The food is THE BEST (try the French vanilla slice, nothing even from France comes close to how good this is). Silky smooth coffee, great breakfasts. Small and cosy. Next to a newsagents for the paper, open until 6pm on weeknights, Saturdays only on weekends.

and restaurant. Its improved since new management took over and livened up Green Square. Gluten Free options were well-done (I had GF taco's). Tonnes of other eateries and cafes around the area too, you won't run out of options...Music gets louder as the evening goes on though, not the place for a quiet meal.
