Cutest little local coffee shop! One block up from Yorktown waterfront. Hours are 9-4 during the week, 9-5 Friday and Saturday. There will be a line if you show up at 9, just FYI. Can’t be in a hurry here... nothing is fast, but coffee and pastries are good! Everything freshly made by them. Very basic coffee menu (see pics), but some of the best coffee around! If you want fast, head to Starbucks down the way. 😄 There are a few parking spaces against the white fence and across the street... most people stop by on a walk or from the beach. At the moment, they are just serving through an outside window and there are picnic tables outside.

To get to the Colonial Parkway, just minutes from the house, turn right out of the driveway, right at the stop sign. This will take you by the American Revolution Museum on the right. You can’t miss all the flags! As you come to the museum, you’ll see signs for the Colonial Parkway. Make a left to enter the parkway. It will bring you to a stop sign and you’ll make a right to get on the Parkway headed towards Jamestown! All the directions for those little beaches in the pictures start here at this stop sign. Tip: Make sure you only stop and park at the places where it’s marked. They patrol the Parkway pretty well, and will ask you to move on.

Cool off in the midst of this Virginia, humid heat! A tip... go straight to the wave pool and claim some of the beach chairs in the shade as soon as you arrive. They are free and can be used as “base camp” while you all head in different directions. You’ll want to do this first thing, because they go quickly!... and you’ll inevitably want a spot in the shade at some point in the day!
