Settle Station
Shopping
The Courtyard is an excellent stop for upmarket shopping and eating. It is conveniently located just to the south of Settle.
Inside the small complex is The Courtyard Dairy - recently awarded Cheesemonger of the Year in the World Cheese Awards! There is also a superb wine shop along with concessions for countrywear, local artists, furniture and even a small garden centre.
As if that isn't enough the excellent brassiere is open all day, all year around. The restaurateurs pride themselves on local sourcing and offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or a full sit down dinner all in a beautifully decorated, airy loft setting.

Our favourite pub in the local area. The Talbot has good food and even better locally brewed beer! Very relaxed with an excellent team of knowledgeable young staff, this pub is always our port of call when walking one of the many Stainforth to Settle round routes. The Talbot has a beautiful beer garden for those sunny days.

Stunning waterfall which is well worth a visit. Easily accessible from The Barn up the (steep) Pennine Bridleway leading from the village green. In Spring and Summer the moorlands to the north of the waterfall teem with birdlife including breeding curlew. Also look out for pairs of the very smart looking wheatear!

A beautiful series of cascading falls which is a must-see whilst you are staying with us.
The Force is famous as one of the best spots in England to watch migrating Atlantic Salmon travel the arduous journey up to their Ribblehead spawning grounds. In autumn the best chance to see the salmon is early to mid October, especially after a period of rain, when the water levels are a little higher to aid the exhausted salmon.

There are numerous routes around Malham Tarn to suit all abilities. The views are stunning. Spring and Autumn are the best times to look for rare birds on passage - although rarities can turn up at any time. There are also a pair of resident peregrine falcons.

Wonderfully erie long disused lime kiln complex. Fascinating for those with an interest in industrial history. The walking trails are well marked and there are numerous information boards. Even for those with little interest in industrial ruins it is highly recommended for the atmosphere and nature alone. keep an eye on the skies for the resident peregrines which nest on the huge scar which looms above the complex. If you are lucky you might spot woodpeckers, tree-creepers and even ravens.
