This is a beautiful and peaceful place to come and meditate or walk in silence if you want to take a break from the bustle of the city without being in the wilderness. It is also an site with a historical glimpse of Yogananda and into the spiritual diversity Los Angeles has to offer. There is no membership or spiritual affiliation or requirement to come and visit the park- all are welcome and left alone. They close early- about 4pm- so check the time before you go.

You can also buy tickets to a planetarium show which is lots of fun and educational too. Around the observatory are hiking trails with more beautiful views of the city as well as another LA icon: the famous Hollywood Sign.
