Italian food with a northwest twist. Excellent wine list, good cocktails, delicious pasta, and they make a great steak (they cut their own). It is a family friendly restaurant, and while there aren’t a ton of children there people to bring their kids and have family meals. Gino is very supportive of that. A real sellwood staple!

They have a very well curated selection of wines and craft beer, with a selection of draft beer that is unique and changes frequently. Wine tasting most Fridays and outdoor seating where you can sip a delicious beverage and watch our neighborhood go by! Their food is great as well, I recommend the Cascadia Dip with a pint.

Delicious food, and plenty of seating (outdoor and upstairs). They also do takeout if you just want to spend a night in. It can be loud in the restaurant proper, and the ordering system is a little inefficient but the food is worth it.

Great place to grab a quick pastry, one of their delicious breakfasts, or a loaf of fresh bread to take home. They also have pretty good coffee if you only want to make one breakfast stop. Oaks Bottom is Portland’s first wildlife refuge, and a Sellwood favorite. The nature trail skirts a natural floodplain where you can see a variety of wildlife including deer and all sorts of migrating birds! Hikers can descend into the refuge itself, and those who need more accessibility can stay in the upper park and enjoy the view! Senna and I run down here pretty frequently.

Local, historic public pool run by Portland Parks and Recreation. Open swim a couple of times a day and lap swim most other hours (although swim lessons and lap swim are often at the same times). They utilize a lot of lifeguards and the pool slopes to the deck so it is great for families with little children. We spend a lot of time there during the summer.
