One of the largest science museums in the world, MSI has both an illustrious history and a focus on the future of science and science education.
It was a moment of inspiration during a family vacation nearly a century ago. Watching his child enthralled by an interactive museum display, our founder Julius Rosenwald resolved to share that experience with Chicago. Since opening in 1933, the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago has been dedicated to inspiring the inventive genius in everyone with uniquely interactive experiences, hosted more than 180 million guests—or about a billion moments like the one that started it all.

Ahh, Jimmy's.... Where else can one find Polish sausage, pitchers of beer, ongoing theological debates, and an Encyclopedia Britannica oft-used to settle arguments?
Officially known as the Woodlawn Tap, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and University of Chicago (UofC) students know this much-loved establishment simply as "Jimmy's," named for its late owner. Just steps from LSTC, the land Jimmy's resides on is actually owned by the UofC. When the university decided to develop the land for its own use, Hyde Parkers, as the neighborhood residents call themselves, rallied to save the land — in order to save Jimmy's!
