Try both the rim trail and the trail down into the canyon to the waterfalls. Also if you have 2 cars you can park one at the trailhead in Trenton and one in the park and hike the beautiful 7 mile canyon creek hike!!

National Battlefields
Chickamauga and Resaca National Battlefields...McPherson marched 24,000 calvary down our driveway May 7. 1864 on a western flank from Chickamauga to Resaca while Sherman pressed Joe Johnston south along the Atlantic and Western railroad through Dalton towards Atlanta.
Visit a well preserved Civil War site. There were 35,000 casualties (2nd costliest battle of the Civil War behind only Gettysburg) on this battlefield.

The nearest "eatery" to the cabin is a gas station halfway to LaFayette...for great fried chicken at lunch or bbq ribs at night try out Tuckers Food & Fuel, 2519 E Hwy 136. Yes, it is a rib shack at a gas station.... Also, Kelly's Diner in Dalton has really good family style food but does not have a web site.
