What can you do in Tromsdalen and Tromsø and the area around :)
Here i have chosen some places to eat which we like ourselves.
About things to do, its based on what my guests have told me. I have also chosen places who are smaller and not so "big" in the tourist industry.... and locally owned. Se also in trip advisor for what other tourists say.....

Nabolagsguide
To see the northern lights I recomend to go into the valley of Tromsdalen. Follow Turistveien until the end, and then follow the path. It will be a good chance to se the northern lights in the winter because it is no electrical light there. In summer it is a beautiful quiet walk. This is very close from our house. You can also go to the lavvu (Gutta på skauen) , a popular place for the locals to go to. In the weekend they serve coffee and something to eat. When it is dark you can make a fire there and just wait to see the aurora. Ask me for more advise
There are also maps and directions on internet. Search "Gutta pa skauen"
There are maps in the house too
