The pretty market town of Bridgnorth is a must see place. About 20min drive from our place. Bridgnorth is split into low town down by the riverside and high town up above. There is a Victorian funicular railway to take you up to high town if you park by the river. There are a multitude of shops, pubs and restaurants. And a stroll around the old town walls and the remains of the ancient castle are free and well worth it. You can also pop over to the Severn valley rail station to see the steam trains too.

A beautiful walk in some stunning woodland, a pretty, short walk but lots to see along the way from beautiful sandstone cliffs to some lovely man made sculpture, not buggy friendly but definitely good for toddlers, a few stairs here and there but nothing too taxing. One for children.

We absolutely love Shrewsbury. Looking for a day out in a market town with some lovely boutique shops, plenty of historical sights and buildings and some great places to eat and drink, look no further. We find parking is best at St Julian’s Friars. From here stroll along the riverside walk to The Quarry. Take a boat trip. Go to The Boathouse for a riverside pint. Explore the sunken garden in the Dingle. Google a Shrewsbury walking trail and explore the alleyways and boutiques of the town centre. Explore every level of the indoor markets. Go to Darwin’s library and the castle. So much to do here. Ask us for ideas for great days out and places to eat, drink and have coffee!
