Nestled in the North End, this popular park rises like a camel's sandy hump in the high desert. To really appreciate the park, bring your walking shoes and get your heart rate up with a vigorous hike to the top. It stretches out below you from the tree-lined North End streets to the prairie like desert and craggy Owyhee Mountains in the distance. After your climb, grill some burgers and play a set of tennis at the public courts (reserve in advance). If you've had enough activity, relax on the green lawn and watch Frisbee-loving dogs show off.

These days, the foodie and restaurant world is abuzz with buzzwords. “Local,” “sustainable,” and “hand-crafted” get tossed around more than a good salad.
Well, it is one thing to say it and another thing to live it. So when, after 23 years of starting and running restaurants, my wife Amanda and I first started playing with the idea of Fork, we knew it would take a lot of effort to make these words mean something. And that’s what we’re trying to do, by making the ideas—the big ideas—behind these words not just marketing slogans, but at the core of how we spend our day.

The Westside Drive-In is one block to the east of our property. It has been in operation since 1957, and was purchased by Chef Lou in 1993. His goal was to bring his experience as a classically trained chef to the setting of a '50s-era drive-in restaurant. The resulting restaurant was a hit, and is known all across the Boise, ID area.

City/town information
Idaho City was founded in December 1862 as “Bannock” (sometimes given as “West Bannock”), amidst the Boise Basin gold rush during the Civil War, the largest since the California gold rush a dozen years earlier. Near the confluence of Elk and Mores Creeks, its plentiful water supply allowed it to outgrow the other nearby camps in the basin, such as Placerville, Pioneerville, and Centerville.
The city is served by State Highway 21, a two-lane undivided highway that connects to Boise to the southwest. To the northeast, it continues on to Lowman and Stanley. The highway travels through the Boise National Forest and is designated as the “Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway.”[21] The route ascends to Banner Creek Summit at 7,056 feet (2,151 m) and later enters the Sawtooth National Recreation Area about 12 miles (19 km) northwest of Stanley.
