Our favorite activities
These are some of the activities we love to recommend (and do ourselves)
These gardens can be seen in a few hours or experienced for the whole day. You can have them prepare a picnic for you, or eat in sit down restaurants, as you wish. In summer the evening concert/fireworks on Saturdays are wonderful.

It's lovely to experience Beacon Hill Park. The petting zoo is so adorable. If you wander down to Dallas Road you're ocean front. Beacon Hill Drive Inn has what we like to think of as the best soft serve ice cream ever!

You really can't get a bad meal on Vancouver Island. There are lots of places to eat that range anywhere from casual to fine dining. Here are a few places that stand out for us on the Victoria food scene.
Our very favorite place for ecclectic Italian. The patio is lovely in summer but indoors is full of charm and atmosphere. The cheese tray comes with honey/fruit pairings and shouldn't be missed. If you're adventurous, eat the special. It's always spectacular.

This 'fast' food is one of the first carbon neutral restaurants, with three locations in Victoria. They feature local everything and are totally accomodating for food preferences or allergies. Even their gravy is vegetarian and gluten free. Reasonably priced and delicious.

If the idea of poutine appeals to you with a wild twist, this is the place for you. The fish is fresh, the menu is definitely fusion. But the poutine (made with a masala reduction, fresh fish, paneer, and spice) is not to be missed.
