Best Italian Restaurant in the City - at least according to locals. One of my favorites for sure. It's about a 10 minute drive there from my place. Not too pricey either.

One of the better, old SF, restaurants in Firsherman's Wharf. Also, it's fun to grab a shrimp cocktail from the fish monger's stalls and a loaf a sour dough - makes a great lunch.

If you're down in the Mission and want a burger this is the place. Featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, they make a good burger. There are bowling lanes in the downstairs portion of the restaurant and they make nick cocktails.

Lots of great restaurants and tourist shops. Sam Wo's on Clay Street where the famously rude Etzel Ford Fung once worked. One of the many early beatnik hangouts in its original location on Washington Street.

10 minute drive from the apartment. Really great Mexican food at affordable prices - not tex-mex. It gets pretty crowded but can be reserved on Open Table.

Six & 1/2 blocks from my place. Walk northeast on Cayuga Ave toward Tingley St. for 3-4 blocks, Turn left onto Lyell and follow to the left until you reach Diamond/Bart. Everything is on Diamond and Chenry Streets.
Great neighborhood restaurants; Canyon Market has a great deli, and is handy in general for groceries.

About 15 minutes drive from my place. Good amount of shops of all sorts, and restaurants. Warmer weather. You can walk up to San Jose Ave and Santa Rosa Streets and take the J Church directly to 24th and Church streets if you don't have a car.

Take the 44 O'Shaugnessy directly to the park from the stop across from the Glen Park Bart station (going up the hill). Save yourself the trouble of finding parking which ultimately save time. Visit the De Young Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, Academy of Science, or just stroll around and have a picnic.

Fun place to go with good rides (especially the Big Dipper rollercoaster), good arcade, food with many restaurants nearby, and it's right on the beach! Stop at Bean Hollow beach on the way if driving highway 1.

This is a really fun place to go and experience for all ages. It's right on the SF Embarcadero. Take Bart to the Embarcadero stop and walk about 1/2 mile to get there without the hassle of driving and parking.

Wonderful trails with great views of the Pacific Ocean. There is a maze at the far end which is also close to the Legion of Honor museum. Check out the Park Chalet before or after for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

General Sightseeing
I've added some of my favorite restaurants, neighborhoods, and bars/venues but by all means do the following if you haven't yet:
Visit Golden Gate Park
Drive or take the 44 bus to visit the park. The DeYoung Museum usually has excellent special exhibits. The Japanese Tea garden is quiet lovely, especially in the spring. There are many walking paths and places for picnics and a free shuttle to different areas.
Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge
Be sure to bring a jacket as it's usually windy and chilly.
Take the Cable Car to Fisherman's Wharf
Hop on BART, get off on Powell & hop on the cc
