Situated on the edge of Dartmoor at the side of the Plym Valley cycle trail (National Cycle Trial route 27) is the perfect stop for lunch. You can hire bikes from Coypool car park in Plymouth. The cycle trail is a former railway which passes through a mixture of thick deciduous woods and conifers. Spectacular stone viaducts give airy views over the Plym Valley. Distance to the pub is around 6 miles and nearly flat.
