Salty Squid

Great beach restaurant, very popular with locals, a varied menu and excellent service. Perfect for a casual lunch or just a drink on the beach. You can walk from the house - 25-30mins along the beach- or take a Tuk Tuk.
Excellent food at a great beach location in walking distance from the house (about 20-25mins from our front door and along the beach) - our favourite place to eat or to enjoy a sundowner. The staff are absolutely lovely and the service is first-class.

Reliable Italian restaurant - you don't go there for the location, but the food's always good and the staff are lovely. There's also a playroom for small children.

The beach is, of course, Diani's star attraction. Voted one of the finest beaches in the world, the endless miles of white sand are surprisingly quiet, particularly at our end of the strip where there are few hotels. You can rent jet skis at the end of the beach path directly opposite the house; further down you can find kite surfing. You can also hire a boat and go snorkelling on the reef; our housekeeper Jonathan can arrange this. Camel rides are also available. You will frequently be approached by beach boys trying to sell you carvings, bracelets, fruit etc - they are polite but persistent so if you are not buying be polite but persistent in return!

A private hospital where you will be seen swiftly and efficiently; they are well used to dealing with stomach bugs, dehydration and other common problems , but also equipped to deal with more serious issues, should they arise. A 20-minute drive from the house.
