Pubs
The Nag’s Head, WR14 2JG, is arguably the best pub in Malvern (with numerous awards) and only a 10-minite walk from the house (although it's uphill on the way home). Large but cosy, with a roaring fire in the colder months, no music, no TV and no game machines. A large selection of guest and local ales and ciders. The food in the attached dining room goes down a treat but it's good to book a table, especially for dinner. Excellent service. Dogs are welcome.

The Chase in Upper Colwall is another cosy country pub, with a wood burner. It allows dogs and is popular with locals. The bar staff are lovely and the food is great. They start serving at 6:30pm – in case you’re planning a walk to end there, which is a nice afternoon option. In summer particularly, it is nice to sit on the deck and admire the view across Herefordshire to Wales. Large parties should book for dinner.
