Hanging out right in town? Here are some activities that I enjoy. Montrose has amazing amenities for a town of its size.
I visit the botanic gardens in every season. It's nearby and showcases native and water-wise plants. Full of flowers in the spring and summer.

Along the Uncompahgre River right through town, there is a lovely walking/bicycling trail that takes you to the Water Sports Park, a section of the river that has been designed for water play of all sorts. It's fun to watch or participate yourself!
