If you are a vegan or veggie, this is a fantastic spot. The food has a strong Thai influence with some really great flavors. I've yet to have anything I didn't like.

If you want some great Japanese food, you must stop in here. The prices are a bit on the high side but you will find the food is very good. They also offer outdoor seating in a Zen Garden patio.

Though I have not yet been there, nearly everyone who has ever eaten at Fore Street said it was probably the best food in Portland. It's tough to get in, so make a reservation well in advance.

If you want some seafood, I really recommend this place. Outdoor seating is a great thing when you are eating a lobster. They sometimes have live music.

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have excellent food and always hang local art on the walls for you to enjoy.

If you like fresh bread and pastries, this is a must see. Their morning buns with nuts are mana from heaven. Also try their baguettes with your coffee before you catch the ferry to Peaks Island.

Hot new donut shop. The flavors here are very creative (pomegranate, dark chocolate sea salt, maple-ginger, bacon and chedder). Check out their new location in the Old Port (7 Exchange St.).

Great little place to try for lunch (or dinner but the menu is on the small side). They are known for their excellent fries made with duck fat. They have very good milkshakes and other drinks.
