Favourite beaches

We are in the middle of the North and South coast and in close proximity to many lovely beaches! Here are some of our favourites.
This dramatic, wide, long sandy beach is absolutely stunning and there’s a great pub, The Port William, which serves good food overlooking the beach. Be mindful to check the tide times as there is no beach at low tide. On your way home, you could always make a stop at Port Isaac for a glass of wine or bite to eat (see below in recommended places to visit). Or if you fancy a walk, you can walk all the way to Tintagel along the coastal path from Trebarwith Strand.

This is your closest beach and lovely though not great for swimming as it’s an estuary. When the tide is out at Rock, you can walk all the way to Daymer Bay and circle back via St Enodoc’s Church and the golf course.

This is a stunning beach, especially at low tide. It’s wide and sandy and doesn’t get too busy at peak times. Park at Port Quin and walk the coastal path along to the beach. Note - this beach is quite tricky to get down to so probably not best for young children or anyone with mobility problems.

This is a very pretty little cove, which is great for a quick dip. When the tide is in then you can walk straight off the jetty into the sea. There’s also a cute cafe here, The Salt Pig, located in the National Trust Car Park, serving sandwiches, cakes and coffee from 10-5pm everyday except Mondays.

This definitely has the wow factor and although further afield, it’s well worth a visit. Be sure to check the tide times so you can be sure to get the full impact of this special place. It also has a great National Trust cafe serving lots of delicious snacks. Great walks along the cliff overlooking the bay too - very Poldarkesque! We would also highly recommend a visit to St Agnes, just a short drive away. For the view and proximity to the sea, you might like to venture to the Driftwood Spars pub for a bite.

Further along the north coast from Chapel Porth, you will find Gwithian which is a beautiful long sandy beach.
