I found this Omoide Yokocho chance when I was researching places to visit and I'm happy I did. It's literally alley with small bars, restaurants where you can eat and drink at a relatively cheap price. The ambiance as you enter the alley definitely says adventure. If you like to eat and drink, you'll enjoy your experience. I found the staff of numerous restaurant to be warm and entertaining. I only discovered there was an English menu available after I ordered my meal. Ask for an English menu at the restaurant you choose as they may have one. If they don't, live a little and be adventurous. Pick a restaurant, have a beer or three and order some finger food. If you're in Tokyo, you must go!

You can eat genuine Japanese food here for reasonable prices. Lunches are even more affordable than dinners. The menu changes everyday because they use the freshest ingredients of the season. This restaurant focuses mainly on tofu and seafood. Address: 4-8 Kagurazaka, Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Sightseeing

I love the staff members here. They were able to accommodate my reservation with the small window I have left in Tokyo. When I arrived they were very professional and polite in regards to taking a bit longer than expected before helping me out. Once it was my turn to shine, I was educated on EVERYTHING from what armors they have to different style of sword movements. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1066456-d10666895-Reviews-SAMURAI_Sengoku_Photo_Studio_Samurai-Shibuya_Tokyo_Tokyo_Prefecture_Kanto.html

If you leave the park through the Shinjuku gate and follow the curving road for one block, you will see a Doutor coffee shop and Starbucks on your left. Turn left and you will be on Yasukuni Street. Cross it, and pretty soon you will see the gates leading to Hanazono Shrine on the right.

The Yamanote line takes you to Harajuku station from Shinjuku and the entrance to the shrine is just behind the station. The loveliest part is the long stroll through beautifully kept grounds, as the tall trees have formed green arches over the paths. The Japanese cicadas are deafening and make a fascinating sound! The shrine itself cannot be entered, but the stroll around pristine gardens is the true highlight. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g1066456-d1373780-Reviews-Meiji_Jingu_Shrine-Shibuya_Tokyo_Tokyo_Prefecture_Kanto.html

Great thing to do in Tokyo, the museum has lots of examples of Japanese armour, weapons and other things. You can try going for a tour of the museum, and the staff seemed interested in their subject and very positive and enthusiastic to talk about it to visitors. They let you try on a helmet and wield a katana Worth the ticket price!
