This place has very cool vegan food that you can't tell is vegan. My non-vegan friend was very impressed. This place doesn't use single use coffee cups so plan to sit and enjoy or borrow one of their many ceramic mugs hanging on the wall.

When I travel with my toddler I love knowing where the nearest park is so that he can run around and burn off some energy.
This places is right next door to a cafe called Rogue District which is open 7 days a week from 7.30am weekdays and 8am weekends and public holidays until 4pm - winning - you can get a coffee (take your travel mug) and watch the children play at the park. This park also has great trees for shade, a table and benches and 2 BBQ's. There are a number of different play areas and equipment suited to a range of children's ages

Just a tram ride into the city and a little walk east. The Pauline Gandel children's gallery is a personal favourite of ours. It's been specifically designed for babies to children aged about 5-6yo. There are cafe's nearby and an enclosed outdoor space.
Also check out the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Melbourne Museum, particularly Bunjil.
