What I like to do for culture days and puttering about.
It's hard to say what's cooler, the art, the building itself, the restaurant at ground level or the views. Together, it's all great, and free for some people with their work IDs. Might be worth checking if you're one of those people!

Walk it. Far fewer people than the Brooklyn Bridge, and arguably better views. Oh, and then spend the day in Williamsburg.

They started building it on March 17, 1930. They finished it on April 11, 1931. Think about that. Less than 13 months. At the very least walk in. Also, pay attention. It's not a square, it's a rectangle if you look closely!
