Food Scene
Astoria's number one culinary attraction, and the best Greek Restaurant in NYC. Drop in an hour or so before you want to eat there, tell them you are staying nearby, and have them call you when your table is ready. Waits here can be nuts! The grilled octopus is not to be missed.

Our regular breakfast haunt, just around the corner from the Cozy Cave. The staff are hilarious and the prices are very reasonable.

Nothing beats this place for cold weather comfort food. Atmosphere is rustic and sweet, and the Ramen, as well as the appetizers are exceptional.

This Italian specialty store beneath the train has, in my opinion, one of the best slices of pizza in NYC (my boyfriend prefers Rose and Joe's across the street). Rosario is a sweetheart, and everything here is great. For an inexpensive dinner at home, stop by and grab a rice ball with a side of marinara and heat it up at home. Best comfort food for under $6!

Excellent Cannoli made to order. Also great is nearby La Guli, which has better atmosphere, but the Cannoli at Rose and Joe's are the best!

Fancy Italian! Boisterous and loud, you will need a reservation. One of the top ten rated Italian Restaurants last time I checked Zagat. Pricey but delicious. Way more than red sauce.

Drinks & Nightlife
The Jewel of Astoria!
Not to be missed.
So much more than a bar, this sprawling outdoor beer garden has been around for over 100 years, and attracts huge crowds in the summer. One of the few places to smoke and drink in the neighborhood if thats your thing, and the beer selection is top notch. Perfect for a crisp fall afternoon!
