The best the North Coast offers. Walk along deep forest path along crystal creeks into a snug ocean cove. Short Sand Beach is a favorite of surfers and Cape Falcon Trail head is found in Oswald West. A must see and only 5 miles north on Hwy 101 from the Storymaker House

Go in low tide, walk down stairs and head to right around the first set of rocks. Waterfall, caves, tide pools and walkway etched in rock that wraps around to take you to the next beach which is Arcadia. You have to watch the tide at this beach so you don't need to spend much time here but the beauty and photos you get will be worth it!

Lovely beach and picnic area. Cape Lookout Trail head is 3 miles south up hill from the park itself. Apparently the 2.5 mile hike (5 miles roundtrip) is one of the most spectacular to view whale migrations

This is the south end of the 3 Cape Scenic Route. A touristy favorite with Pelican brewery. Interesting rock formations with public parking and restrooms. Not a personal favorite (Kathy) but many like this spot. You can see Cape Kiwanda from the south side of the Cape Lookout trail.

Smaller store but well Stocked, family owned, with deli, fresh seafood and meats. On main drag in downtown Manzanita.

Bigger grocery store that is part of a chain. Two large walk in coolers for wine and beer. Pre-made scones, cakes, muffins etc and more the size of a regular grocery store. Again, prices are not budget friendly.

Rent a boat, crab ring and bait and go catch your own crab on Nehalem Bay! The people at Kelly's love their job and showing people how to work the boats set the crab rings etc. If no luck catching your limit or crabs too small, no worries, just go back to the dock and pay for the crabs already in the pot. Clams and oysters too! Everybody loves Kelly's!
