Arts & Culture
The Queluz National Palace is a very important landmark in Portuguese History, and the place itself is beautiful. It has been recently restored to feature its original tones, in pale blue, and the gardens are also being renovated.
It's surrounded by a gorgeous park, and when our head of State receives official visits, like royalty, presidents and such, the Queluz National Palace is where they get accommodated.

This is my favourit"est" place around! You have to take at least half-a-day to enjoy the minimum of this crazy house and it's insane garden/tunnels architecture. Take you time reading about it's history, it's a one-of-a-kind thing to do!

This is the park that surrounds the National Palace. I usually run here and back from my flat (around 6kms, 300m ascend). Sometimes they have little fairs happening during the weekend. Here you can see a part of the Lisbon aqueduct too.

I love going to Praia da Ursa, because of its stunning views and also the trek downhill you have to do to get there. Take an hour to get there (by car), and another hour to trek downhill. Sunset from here is pure magic!

Fábrica da Pólvora (Powder Factory). It was abandoned for years after it exploded. Now you can visit its facilities, and see how gunpowder used to be manufactured here. It has cafés, restaurant, and amphitheatre, a park, a university, a museum, and it's a great little getaway from the buzzling city!
