This is not just a cafe like any other. This is "your door to the world" as the sign in the window reads! Cafe Globen is run by volunteers from the Travellers' Club of Denmark so if you are an avid traveller longing for advice on where to head next or in the mood for a fun travel tale this is the place to go! Please note, it's only open Monday to Fridays from 17 to 22 at night (sometimes later depending on the mood of the tenders at the bar). They have great coffee and tea but the best is the huge selection of international beers! Both on tap and on bottle. Even better, you can bring your own food here (or food from one of the take aways nearby). Most evenings they also have someone giving a talk on journeys undertaken. Cafe Globen is also the meeting point of the local Couchsurfing community so travellers from far and afield will always feel welcome here!

This small hunting castle offers a nice scenery and is still being used by royalty. Take the metro to Nørreport and then change to the S-train to Klampenborg station and walk into the forest to see the deer. The forest is called Dyrehaven – deer garden for a good reason. Many people go here for a picnic. Dyrehaven is also home to the amusement park Bakken, the oldest of its kind in Europe.

Refshaleøen ("Fox tail island") used to house the B&W shipyard but has now been turned into a hip neighborhood with its own outdoors theatre scene, cafes and other creative spaces. It still looks quite industrial, though. And don't be surprised if you see a rocket being launched into space or a submarine on land! It even houses a private space laboratory! For dinner head out to the restaurant Halvandet and enjoy the view across the harbour.

A community of its own. Hipsters and hippies mingle here. This is an utopian society where "alternative" is common ground. Walk around the lake and into the forest to really get an idea about how large Christiania is and what it is all about. Pusher Street is of course the main thoroughfare but do venture beyond it!
