Centennial Park is a great place to go with kids or with a group. I have many fond memories of playing in the park growing up. There's plenty of picnic benches and walking paths, and a beautiful view of the water.

Barrie is lucky to be included in the worlds longest network of recreational trails. The Trans Canada Trail, also known as The Great Trail will include approximately 20km of Barrie trails connecting the Township of Springwater in the northwest to the Township of Innisfil in the south and going right through downtown Barrie.
If you are a Pokemon Go player you may enjoy walking up and down the lake shore portion of this trail which has plenty of pokestops and gyms.
