A good starting point is Grey's Monument, where there's always something going on, check out Central Arcade, walk down Grey Street then Dean Street, all the way to the Quayside. Georgian architecture and interesting bars and shops along the way.

Parks & Nature
I go there daily to walk my dog, circle the lake to check on the birds, have a coffee. Great for all kinds of groups and activities. Many events are held there. There's interesting information boards, tennis courts, children's play and adult exercise equipment. Super place and very close to the City as well as the wide open expanse of the Town Moor.
