This is just 20 miles (about a 30 minute drive since it is through a winding canyon, but Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are simply gorgeous. Great sights, wildlife, especially in the fall when the elk are bugling, lovely river (the same Big Thompson River that makes it's way down to me) and then fun shopping and food in Estes Park.

Essentials
Love this little amish run market. The produce is so inexpensive, and often organic. Tucked back about 5 miles up the road to Loveland, but fun little place to go for fresh produce and a bit past pull date other goods.. thus the "discount".

Sightseeing
Loveland is the home to the largest outdoor sculpture festival in the nation that meets every August. (The Invitational: I was actually one of those sculptors in the show myself a few years back.) Our little Loveland is a mecca for sculptors actually. This park and another called The Loveland sculpture garden which is just east of Wilson off of 29th is home to some pretty beautiful works of art, and a huge variety as well. It is just a public park and free. There are more sculptures on the south side too as you walk from this park over to Lake Loveland along side the high school.
