Together with the church, the complex features the so-called hermit’s house, whose singular facade wall encloses a natural cave thereby creating a sort of hybrid between a cave-dwelling and a traditional Dalmatian house. At the center of the complex is the water tank with the stone well on top of it, surrounded by stone benches.

In the town of Sinj, the knightly game of Sinjska alka has been held for over three centuries, according to strictly codified regulations, with participants in historical scents and with historical equipment and weapons. It is organized in commemoration of the victory of the Knights of Sinj over the many times more numerous Ottoman army that besieged Sinj in 1715 and in honor of Our Lady who, according to belief, saved the city at that time. It is held once a year, on the first Sunday in August (but so that all three competitions, Bara, Čoja and Alka, take place in August), only in Sinj and since its inception at the same place - the Alkar Racecourse. For three hundred years, Alka has been a true ethical benchmark for the inhabitants of Cetinje krajina in jealously guarding the spirit of chivalry and patriotism, an incentive to compete in nobility and honesty, and an eternal memory of the heroism of our great-grandfathers. It is a game that, over centuries of tradition, has been woven into the nation, becoming its indisputable factor, the bearer of national pride, inspiration and the source of creativity.

Klis experienced its significance for Croatian history from the 15th century onwards, when it was at the border of three empires - the Ottoman Empire, the Republic of Venice and the Habsburg Monarchy. In Klis, the uskos, military units that got their name because of their "jumping" into enemy territory, were operating there, they would ravage and return to the base. The leader of the Kliš invasions was Petar Kružić, who defended the fort with his men for more than twenty years against the many times more powerful Ottoman army. However, with very little help from the ruler, Klis could not resist forever and in 1537 it fell into Turkish hands.

Hvar straightway presents itself as a monument. Centuries have ground its stone, epochs, above all renaissance, have shaped its appearance.
We advice you to visit the fortress Fortica (Spanjola), the cathedral of Hvar, the theatre of Hvar (established in 1612) with the arsenal and the Franciscan monastery.
