Schooners in Cayucos
If you are looking for a casual place to eat. Schooners is a peaceful, relaxing setting with endless ocean views including the Cayucos pier. Tell the host you want to sit on the top deck next to the window to enjoy the beautiful ocean views. The wait is worth it. The food is good, portions are average in size. I like the fish n chips, the hamburgers are good too. I ask for extra crispy fries. Service is decent if its not too busy.
This Restaurant has Italian food. Home made bread right out of the oven, delicious clam chowder, the short rib roast is my favorite dish. The proportion can feed two people.

This is walking distance from the Airbnb. They have plenty of seating which makes the wait quick. The food is good and the menu has a large variety of hamburgers. The salads are good too. The milk shakes are super large. It's a great place for families as its very casual.

If you love History and old Castles then you will love to take a tour of Hearst Castle. This is a 4 hour event. I enjoy the tour with the bedroom quarters. The movie they provide is good too!! Enjoy

Elephant Seals in San Simeon
Past Heart Castle on HWY 1 there is a sign White Elephant Seals. Free parking and free to walk down the path. Beautiful drive and amazing to observe the enormous Elephant seals.
If you go North past San Simeon look for the signs for elephant seals. They are on the west side of the freeway. Park your car and watch the incredible, enormous flabby mammals.

Drive up the state Park Road to the end and park your car. Walk is about a 15 minute slight up hill incline. Absolutely beautifull 360 degree views. I go up the hill about 20 minutes before sunset.
