Just a 10 minute drive from our place, this is one of the most stunning beaches on the Otago Peninsula, and is a great place to spot Sea Lions and also the rare Yellow-eyed penguins. Plus the beach itself is beautiful and boasts some huge sand-dunes - great fun for the kids (and our inner kid) to run down the dunes, even if the climb back up is a little less fun

About a 45 min walk, or 4 min drive from our place, and a short track up to the memorial. Takes in terrific views of Dunedin and the harbour. For those of you wanting a bit more excercise, there is a stunning track that takes you through farmland (there is a marked track) from the memorial, down to Tomahawk Lagoon and you can then walk the loop back to Every Street, along Tomahawk Road. A regular walking/running route of ours.
