Parks & Nature
A footpath takes you down to the end of Hope's Nose and although it is a bit of a trek back up it is worth it. Just beyond Hope' Nose lies The Orestone near which a ship was moored containing the captive Napoleon Bonaparte; he became one of Torquay's first major tourist attractions. Hope's Nose is also home to gold deposits although they were considered too small for commercial extraction.... and the area is home to pygmy goats who help to keep the vegetation in check.
