Perfect for couples. It is based in the lovely quiet village of Rangataua which is only a 5-minute drive to Ohakune township where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops. The winter offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding, and summer offers lots of walks, mountain biking and fishing.

Enjoy relaxing on a sun soaked back porch with birds swooping by, or cuddle up by the fire when it's chilly. 3 neighbouring Native Reserves give a range of Bush walks. It's a great base for local activities. Clear creek to cool down in or great swimming holes only a short drive. We are on the NZ Cycle trail.

Located on State Highway 1... 2 hours south of Taupo, 2 hours north of Wellington & 1 hour to Ohakune. Enjoy a wine on the deck looking out at the operating sheep and beef farm. Our restored shearers quarters are modern, warm, bright and comfortable. Double glazed, fireplace, insulated, infinity gas and beautifully decorated. We have free Wifi. ChromeCast on the TV. Waireka Apartment, situated in Ohakune in the Ruapehu District is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment each with a queen size bed, a large lounge with mountain views, kitchen and own spa pool. Spa Pool operates from 10am to 10pm Cleaning on departure is included in the rate.
