This modern, luxurious cottage is truly special. It is located in the Tawnawully mountains by Lough Eske. It is set on 12 acres with a river running through it and a tumbling waterfall right by the cottage. Only 15 minutes drive to Donegal town, which has some really nice restaurants and bars. There is a castle to explore in the town and a wonderful craft village with a very good cafe. Ten minutes drive to Harveys Point and twelve minutes from Lough Eske castle, both reputable 5 * hotels.

The house is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, just outside Rathmullan, recently named by the Guardian as one of Ireland’s ten most charming villages. We are at the end of a secluded cul-de-sac, by the edge of a wood and just 50m from the beutiful Porthaw beach; you can hear the tide lapping. We face west, accross Lough Swilly, to the hills of Donegal and spectacular sunsets. Its a 30 min walk along the Fr Hegarty coast path into Buncrana, less than 2km by road. Swimming, golf, fishing, walking, trekking and more are all available locally. The Walled City is 16km away and all of Inishowen and Donegal is at your doorstep.

The Barn

Entire place . Lovely light airy place with sea views, open fire , sleeps 2. Own entrance to entire place panoramic sea views with access to beach from property . Fully equipped kitchen, complimentary tea & coffee and some kitchen basics oil, flour salt pepper. Dining area, sitting room and ensuite double bedroom. Shower room downstairs in our antique shop which is opened 1-5 during the summer months.

Mary Carpenter's Cottage is a beautifully restored original thatched cottage located in Clonmany Co. Donegal. Located 2.5km from Clonmany village. This house is over 150 years old and has been tastefully renovated to include its beautiful original features alongside modern conveniences. The house has recently been featured in a documentary on vernacular houses in Co. Donegal.
