You are invited into my home where we will prepare Pastizzi.
My family recipe will yield the taste of our notorious local snack and whip up unforgettable moments, whilst keeping Maltese traditions alive.
This experience is as much about history as it is about food. My mission is to leave each of you feeling: Excited, informed and loving Malta even more by sharing my family recipe!
We will begin our experience with an introduction to when and how Pastizzi became part of our local diet.
Discussing the influences of our previous invaders and rulers who played an important role in characterising local cuisine.
What To Expect
You will learn about the two staple
fillings for Pastizzi, Ricotta and Pea, which will be made ready for you as they would need a whole experience of their own to prepare :)
Together, we will explore the ingredients and techniques allowing you to get involved by preparing the Pastizzi
by hand following my guiding instructions.
Once the preparations are done, you
will be invited to sit at the table where tea, kinnie, cisk and other drinks will be served.
Finally, our freshly baked Pastizzi will be eaten.
