Gwen's Cottage at Water's Edge

Gwen’s Cottage is located on the privately owned and operated estate, Water’s Edge, which was recently re-established in January 2022 by Western Pennsylvania native, Gwendolyn Reno. This cottage is a newly renovated, 490sqft, studio-style accommodation, perched along side the Slippery Rock Creek adjacent to McConnells Mill State Park. This charming cottage has a wrap around deck that quite literally over-looks the creek and faces the state park land located just across the water.

Secluded along the banks of the Slippery Rock Creek is the 4th generation family cottage, fully renovated in 2017, originally built in 1940. Welcome to the No. 8 Schoolhouse! This converted school was originally built by artist, Ronald Garrett as an artist retreat. 2024 brought many changes to the Schoolhouse retreat. Owners, Michael and Christina decided the Schoolhouse deserved a revamp. And revamp they did! They remodeled top to bottom while also redesigning to give their guests a funky experience! It's one of a kind. You'll never see another like it!
