Our home is a great central location situated between Chapel Hill and Greensboro and minutes from hiking and kayaking locations on the Haw River. Fortress of Solitude

Want to get away? Fortress of Solitude is a modernist house on 30 acres. Relax on the porches listening to birdsong. The fortress was built in 2007 as a vacation home. Passive solar design features include concrete walls and many windows. The style of the fortress is a call back to old NC tobacco barns. Surrounded by forest with no neighbors in sight, this home has excellent privacy and a half mile long driveway. Gratitude to all guests who stayed during our 1st year!
