In a short 3 minute drive you will be in downtown Marathon where you will find shopping at Front Street Books, Evans Gallery and Pitaya Verde. Stop by the famous White Buffalo Bar for an award winning margarita. Just a 45 minute drive to the entrance of Big Bend National Park where you will find incredible hiking, river rafting, bike riding as well as an opportunity to cross over into Mexico and Boquillas.

Marathon is a quaint west Texas town with a public park, gardens, restaurants and shopping. It also has a level 1 night sky rating for star gazing. Located 40 minutes from Big Bend National Park entrance, this is a launch point to explore the national park and other parks and communities.

Climate controlled! What is a Yurt? Yurts originated in Mongolia. The Mongolian people were nomadic, and they took their homes (yurts) with them as they tended to, and traveled, with their livestock. Today yurts are built on a platform & consist of two thick layers of canvas with a layer of insulation in between, and most notably a domed skylight at their center. 5 mins to Alpine, 30 mins to Fort Davis, Marfa, and Marathon. Big Bend Park, Terlingua, & Lajitas are roughly 100 miles away.

Mountain View Guest House

This structure is part of an overall experimental building project we have had going for 15 years. There are other structures on the property made from recycled materials including 'papercrete.' Free dust: it is the desert. You should not expect the Ritz Carlton, but if you have some flexibility and half a 'hippie bone' left in your body, this might be the place for you to expand. Come see us, share some travel stories and relax under and amazing milky way. No TV's in the room.

Located at the western edge of Marfa, this cozy, unique adobe offers a true Marfa experience, and the best isolation and comfort for you. The house is air conditioned and heated, has wifi and a smart TV. There is one bedroom downstairs with a comfy queen sized bed and one loft bedroom upstairs with a queen sized bed and fun views. Tiny Cottage - Located in the heart of downtown Alpine, Texas, this separate, diminutive cottage (1 room and bath) was a teeny office (168sf) back in the day! The bed is only a 3/4 bed ( wider than a twin, but less wide than a double)! The TINY cottage is situated downtown, behind the locally owned salon and barber shop, Americana. Enjoy the Backyard, adjacent to the Dragonfly Cottage!
