The Stables

Situated in Rowland Flat on a three-acre property, the stone cottage was the original tack and feed rooms for Mr Rowland's stables. Separated by a courtyard the stables are now the home of the host. The cottage is comprised of a truly delightful bedroom with an antique double bed with stunning garden views; comfortable lounge room with TV/DVD, CD/radio, books and games; light and open equipped kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, large electric frying pan and breakfast bar overlooking gardens through french windows (provisions for continental breakfast); the bathroom has both separate shower and claw foot slipper bath, toilet and vanity. R/c air-conditioning/heating and ceiling fans throughout. Access from the cottage to your own verandah with garden spilling over…serenity…the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or bottle of local wine. Enjoy walks through our vineyard and paddocks and come across surprises such as our free-range chooks, wood fire pizza oven, an array of interesting seating and more. Incredible views across the valley floor to the imposing ranges or, bordering our property, the beguiling North Para River (in winter a roaring, cascading joy to behold or in summer the rock based riverbed allows access to caves, a geologists delight) and the birdlife is bountiful. Use of the swimming pool is available in the warmer months.

"The Shed"

At first glance, yes it's a shed. But explore further and you will find an unique Aussie experience, a fully functional self contained room. Shower, toilet and kitchenette. All private and seperate from our house. It's normally used for overnighters by family and friends. Please be open minded in your expectations, it's not the Ritz, Hilton, Taj Mahal but what it is clean, tidy, private affordable accomadation. Single or couple. Please note that toilet, shower and sink are located in same room.

The Writer's Studio, Barossa

Perfect for one or two people, The Writer's Studio is fully self-contained. It has a really comfortable and firm inflatable queen bed. Away from the main house, it opens out onto a small orchard. This is a quiet oasis you can enjoy in between exploring all the Barossa has to offer. It has dining and sitting areas as well as a reading nook in the loft. It has a sofa which can open out for a child if necessary. Or we can set up another inflatable bed in the loft, accessed by a loft ladder.

Looking for a getaway - The Loft is tops! Perfect location, walking distance to multiple cellar doors, cross the road to Ulster Park, The Little Birds and Joyful Bunch, The Rising Sun with an IGA a short walk away. The Loft (accessible via staircase) is a two bedroom apartment; main double bedroom (sleeps 2) has a slow combustion heater, reverse cycle AC, sofa & TV, cosy twin bed room, large eat in kitchen, bathroom with large bath & shower, onsite parking. Heaters & electric blankets!

WHISTLER VINEYARD RETREAT

Set on 80acres in the heart of the Barossa Valley this private, self-contained guest wing is surrounded by vineyard and gardens. Our retreat gets you back to nature... with vineyard and scrub walks, (accompanied by at least one of our Border Collies), friendly geese, an inquisitive free-roaming peacock, hens, rescued & wild kangaroos, the occasional Koala and a myriad of birdlife. 1881 Courthouse, Studio

Built in 1881 in historical Church Hill, with modern amenities, the Courthouse is centrally located in Gawler, yet quiet, offering a unique, self-contained accommodation option, close to the Barossa Valley, Gawler main street and shops. The Studio is at the front of this majestic building and is completely private. Originally the Witness Waiting Room , Entrance Foyer, Hallway, and WCs, the Studio is cosy and well equipped with initial breakfast supplies, fast internet and Netflix.

Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.
